Shared Hosting Resource Usage Print

  • 478

Shared hosting plans are an entry level service meant for small sites to get started online, and without fear of overage charges. Web hosting plans operate under a platform where the CPU, memory, disk I/O and disk space are shared between multiple users. For that reason users must not monopolize resources or implement Intensive operations, for that purpose a VPS or dedicated server is required. If your account is found abusing shared resources we may suspend or limit the account to maintain server performance.

To ensure users do not game the system or operate outside the intended scope of the service, the following rules and limits apply to web hosting and reseller hosting accounts. We highly recommend that you monitor your usage and upgrade as appropriate.

1. MySQL databases may not exceed 1 GB in size.

2. MS SQL databases may not exceed 1 GB in size.

3. Sites may not exceed 1 GB of Memory.

4. No individual folder may exceed 20,000 files/inodes.

5. No account may exceed 250,000 files/inodes.

6. Shared Web hosting space may only be used as intended to store the files actively used by your Website (e.g., html, images, css), and may not be used as a storage repository or drop box.

7. No individual email account may exceed 5 GB in size and/or 50,000 messages.

8. Control panel backup functions may not be used for data exceeding 15 GB in size and/or 75,000 inodes.

These rules help to prevent accounts from abusing shared server resources and negatively affecting load time for other users sharing the server.
